Cable Adjustment - Shift Indicator, Column Shift
NOTE:
The shift control must be properly adjusted before performing this adjustment.
- Remove the key release lever (3F527).
- Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder (11582); see STEERING COLUMN .
- Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds (3530).
- Position the transaxle range selector lever in the OVERDRIVE position. Hang a 1.4 kg (3 lb) weight on the transaxle range selector lever.
- Use the adjustment wheel to adjust the shift cable until the shift indicator completely covers the D and the calibration dot shows no red.
- Cycle the range selector lever through all of the positions and check that the shift indicator completely covers the proper letter or number in each position.
- Install the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
- Install the ignition switch lock cylinder; see STEERING COLUMN .
- Install the key release lever.
