  • The engine cranks slowly

  • CARRY OUT the Starter Motor - Feed Circuit and Starter Motor - Ground Circuit Tests. REFER to COMPONENT TESTS  .
  • The engine cranks but does not start
  • Fuses
  • PCM 
  • Fuel pump
  • Fuel pump relay
  • Unusual starter noise
  • Starter motor
  • Starter motor mounting
  • Starter motor engagement
  • Flexplate ring gear
  • The starter spins but the engine does not crank
  • Starter motor
  • INSPECT the starter motor mounting and engagement. REPAIR as necessary.
 
  • Damaged flexplate
  • INSPECT the flexplate for damaged, missing or worn teeth. REPAIR as necessary.
  • The starter does not disengage from the Flexplate
  • BJB  Starter Relay
  • Wiring, terminal or connectors
  • REMOVE the BJB  Starter Relay, if the engine stops cranking INSTALL a new relay. If the engine continues to crank, REPAIR circuit CDC25 (BN/GN) for a short to voltage.
  • The remote start system operates with reduced range
  • External antenna
  • Tire Pressure Monitor Module (TPM)
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • The remote start is inoperative
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Remote start feature enabled
  • Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) (without IA  )
