The engine cranks slowly	Battery Starter motor Wiring, terminals or connectors	CARRY OUT the Starter Motor - Feed Circuit and Starter Motor - Ground Circuit Tests. REFER to COMPONENT TESTS .
The engine cranks but does not start	Fuses PCM Fuel pump Fuel pump relay	REFER to ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 0)
Unusual starter noise	Starter motor Starter motor mounting Starter motor engagement Flexplate ring gear	GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
The starter spins but the engine does not crank	Starter motor	INSPECT the starter motor mounting and engagement. REPAIR as necessary.
	Damaged flexplate	INSPECT the flexplate for damaged, missing or worn teeth. REPAIR as necessary.
The starter does not disengage from the Flexplate	BJB Starter Relay Wiring, terminal or connectors	REMOVE the BJB Starter Relay, if the engine stops cranking INSTALL a new relay. If the engine continues to crank, REPAIR circuit CDC25 (BN/GN) for a short to voltage.
The remote start system operates with reduced range	External antenna Tire Pressure Monitor Module (TPM) Wiring, terminals or connectors	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
The remote start is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Remote start feature enabled Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) (without IA ) IA key (with IA ) External antenna Hood switch Input PCM	GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
