Engine Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Connect a suitable voltmeter to electrical connector terminals as shown in Fig. 8.
2. Slowly increase engine speed and record engine speed at which current begins to flow to the circuit Engine speed should be 1200 RPM.
3. Slowly decrease engine speed and record engine speed at which current stops flowing to the circuit. The difference between engine speeds recorded in steps 2 and 3 should be 100-300 RPM. If difference is not with in specified limit replace engine speed unit.
