Duty Solenoid Valve

  1. Remove air cleaner. Disconnect the vacuum sensing tube from the EGR control valve. Unplug the solenoid valve electrical connector. Air blown through the vent tube should be expelled through the EGR vacuum sensing tube.
  2. Apply 12V to connector as shown in Figure . Blow air through the vent tube. Duty solenoid valve should now be closed. Disconnect the duty solenoid-to-intake manifold sensing hose at intake manifold.
  3. Air blown through the intake manifold tube should not pass through the valve. Apply 12V to the connector as shown in Figure . Air blown through the intake manifold tube should be expelled out the vent tube.
