Cam Lift

Perform steps 1) and 2) of Injection Pump Timing Adjustment. Dial indicator gauge should indicate zero. Turn crankshaft in direction of engine rotation, and read the maximum value reached by the indicator pointer.
If the cam lift is less than .08" (2.2 mm), a problem exists with the cam disc or roller assembly. Bleed air from pump.
