Engine Speed Switch
- Connect voltmeter probes to throttle positioner 3-way solenoid electrical terminals without disconnecting electrical connector. Start engine and increase engine speed to 2000 RPM.
- Slowly decrease engine speed and note speed at which current flows to circuit. Engine speed should be 1600-1800 RPM on California models with A/T, and 1400-1600 on all others.
- Slowly increase engine speed again and record engine speed at which current does not flow. The difference between the recorded speeds should be 150-250 RPM. Replace engine speed switch if it does not operate as outlined.
