Air Relief Valve

  1. Run engine at idle speed. Disconnect air pump-to-air cleaner return line at air cleaner. Place finger over return line. At idle, no air flow out of relief valve should be felt.
  2. Increase engine speed to 4500 RPM. Air flow out of relief valve should be felt. If relief valve does not respond as outlined, replace relief valve and air pump assembly.
NOTE: Air pump is serviced as complete assembly only.
