Coasting Air System

Bring engine to normal operating temperature and run at idle. Disconnect neutral switch (M/T) or inhibitor switch (A/T), located on left side of transmission. Remove and plug vacuum hose at idle up solenoid for electrical load, located next to fuel filter. See Fig 1 . Increase engine speed to 3000 RPM. Decelerate and ensure that a vacuum is present at idle up solenoid port between 1500-2300 RPM. If vacuum is not present test idle up solenoid.
