Code 6 (Throttle Position Sensor)
- Check for poor connections at throttle position sensor connector. Repair or replace as necessary. If connections are okay, measure resistance of throttle position sensor. If resistance is incorrect, replace sensor.
- If resistance is correct, measure voltage at terminal "C" of throttle position sensor connector. If reading is 4.5-5.5 volts, go to next step. If not, check for open or short circuit in wiring harness from terminal "C" of sensor to ECU connector. If wiring is okay, replace faulty ECU.
- Measure voltage at terminal "2G" of ECU. If reading is more than 4.5 volts, check for open circuit in wiring harness from terminal "A" of throttle position sensor to ECU connector.
- If reading is less than .4 volts, check for short circuit in wiring harness from terminal "A" of throttle position sensor to ECU connector. If reading is between .4-4.5 volts, replace faulty ECU.
