P/S Idle-Up Signal

Bring engine to normal operating temperature and run at idle. With idle-up valve connector attached, use a voltmeter between terminal D and ground. See Figure . Turn steering wheel to full right or left and hold. Ensure there are zero volts. Release steering wheel and ensure 12 volts are present. If not within specifications, check P/S switch and wiring harness. See P/S SWITCH TEST in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM article.
