Injector Delivery Volume

  1. Remove jumper from fuel pump test connector and attach a piece of hose between injector and a graduated cylinder. Connect Injector Checker (49 9200 040) to injector electrical connector. See Fig 1 .

    CAUTION: Be extremely careful when connecting injector checker to battery; always work away from sparks or open flames.
  2. Turn ignition on, jumper fuel pump test connector and energize injector by connecting injector checker's leads to battery voltage. Measure injector fuel delivery volume for 15 seconds.
  3. Volume produced in 15 seconds should be 3.8-4.0 oz. (.11-.12L) for the non-turbo model and 4.5-4.8 oz. (1.3-1.4L) for the turbo model. Check primary and secondary injectors in the same manner.
