Throttle Sensor
- To check and adjust throttle sensor, proceed as follows. Warm up engine and then turn it off. Remove cap from throttle adjusting screw. Connect Checker Lamp (49 F018 001) to Green check connector. See Fig 1
. Turn on ignition, checking to see if one of the lamps is illuminated.NOTE: DO NOT use excessive pressure on the throttle adjusting screw. This may cause incorrect adjustment.
- If both lamps or if neither lamp illuminates, adjust by turning throttle adjusting screw until one lamp illuminates. If both lamps are illuminated, adjust by turning adjusting screw counterclockwise. If neither lamp illuminates, adjust by turning throttle adjusting screw clockwise. After adjusting, install cap onto adjusting screw.
- Disconnect connector for throttle sensor. Connect an ohmmeter to throttle sensor. See Fig 2 . Open throttle valve and observe ohmmeter reading. At idle reading should be about 1000 ohms. Wide open reading should be about 5000 ohms.
