Hot Idle COMPENSATOR

NOTE: Hot idle compensation is an integral function of the air temperature sensor in the airflow meter.
  1. Bring engine to normal operating temperature. Remove upper air cleaner cover assembly. With connector attached, connect voltmeter to the air by-pass valve side of connector at terminal "E" and ground. See Fig 1 .

  2. Using a heat source, warm up intake air temperature sensor to more than 131°F (55°C). Ensure voltmeter shows zero volts. If voltage is found, test the intake air temperature sensor. See COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM section.
