Power Steering Idle-Up Signal

Bring engine to normal operating temperature and run at idle. With idle-up valve connector attached, use a voltmeter between terminal "D" and ground. See Figure . Turn steering wheel to full right or left and hold. Ensure there are zero volts. Release steering wheel and ensure 12 volts are present. If not within specifications, check power steering switch and wiring harness. See POWER STEERING SWITCH TEST in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM article.
