Component Testing: Dashpot: B2200

  1. With engine off, open throttle lever quickly. Note that the dashpot rod follows quickly to its full stroke. Release throttle lever, ensuring it returns slowly after contacting dashpot rod to the idle position. Replace dashpot if defective.
  2. Bring engine to normal operating temperature and run engine at idle. Connect tachometer to engine. Slowly increase engine RPM. Throttle lever should separate from dashpot rod at 1900-2100 RPM. If not within specifications, adjust by turning dashpot.
