Hot Idle COMPENSATOR

  1. Remove air cleaner cover. With engine cold, disconnect idle compensator air tube at intake manifold and draw air through. Idle compensator valve should be closed and air should be restricted. Replace idle compensator valve if defective.
  2. Using a heat source, warm idle compensator valve to 145-160°F (63-71°C). Draw air through idle compensator air tube. Valve should be open and airflow not restricted. Replace idle compensator valve if defective.
