EGR Position Sensor
- Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve and connect a vacuum pump. Disconnect EGR position sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, check voltage of each terminal. See Fig 1

Terminal CODES Voltage (No Vacuum) Voltage (6 in. Hg Vac.) "A" .7 4.7 "B" 1.5 or less 1.5 or less "C" 4.5-5.5 4.5-5.5 - If voltage reading is not as specified at terminals "B" and "C", check wiring harness and ECU terminals 1D, 1F, and 1G.
- If voltage is not as specified at terminal "A", check wiring harness, ECU, and sensor resistance. Disconnect sensor connector. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals while applying 6 in. Hg to EGR control valve. Check resistance using EGR POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE table.
