Description & Operation
The Mazda RX7 utilizes a crank angle sensor and a coil with an ignitor. The coil with ignitor interrupts primary current of the coil. The crank angle sensor detects the angle of the eccentric shaft and sends a signal to the control unit. This allows the control unit to control the point of ignition timing. The control unit performs the distributor function and determines point of ignition timing (including advance).
