VRIS Solenoid

  1. Connect voltmeter between solenoid valve Brown/White wire and ground. See Fig 1 . Start engine and note voltage. If voltage is not to specifications, check ECU terminal voltage and connections.

    VRIS OPERATING VOLTAGE

    Engine RPM Volts
    Less Than 3700 Approx. 12
    3700-5750 Less Than 2
    Greater Than 5750 Approx. 12
  2. Disconnect vacuum hoses from solenoid. Blow through port B. Ensure air exhaust through air filter.
  3. Disconnect solenoid connector. Apply 12 volts to one solenoid terminal and ground the other. Blow through port B. Ensure air exhaust through port A. See Figure .
