Trouble Code No. 12

  1. Check all connections and repair as necessary. Check for battery voltage at BLK/WHT wire of connector of coil with igniter (trailing side). If no voltage exists, check for open circuit from main relay to connector.
  2. If voltage exists, check coil with igniter operation. See appropriate DISTRIBUTOR & IGNITION SYSTEMS article for test procedures. If coil operates properly, check for voltage at terminal "1M" of ECU with engine at idle. If voltage exists, ECU is defective.
  3. If no voltage exists with engine at idle, check for voltage at BLU/RED wire of coil with igniter. If no voltage exists, coil with igniter is defective. If voltage exists, ECU is defective.
