Ignition Coil Resistance

  1. Inspect coil for signs of arcing or leakage. Remove primary and secondary leads from ignition coil. Using ohmmeter, check primary resistance between (positive) and (negative) terminals of coil. See Fig 1 .
  2. Check secondary resistance between (positive) terminal and coil tower. See 4-CYL. IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table. Replace coil if readings are not within specifications.
