Coolant Temperature THERMOVALVE Test
Remove coolant temperature thermovalve. See Figure . Connect vacuum tubing to each port and immerse valve in water-filled container. Heat water gradually and observe temperature. Blow through valve from one vacuum port and verify air comes out other port at more than 129°F (54°C). If air does not pass as indicated, replace thermovalve. Install thermovalve and tighten to 18-39 ft. lbs. (25-53 N.m).
