Test A: Power Windows Do Not Operate

  1. Turn ignition on. Check POWER WIND (30-amp) fuse in instrument panel fuse block. See Figure . If fuse is blown, replace fuse after locating and repairing short in wiring, if necessary. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Check voltage at Black/Red wire terminal of main switch connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair Black/Red wire between instrument panel fuse block and main switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect main switch connector. Check continuity between Black wire terminal of main switch connector and good vehicle ground point. If continuity is present, check UP/DOWN switch portion of main switch. See MAIN SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If continuity is not present, repair ground circuit between main switch and body ground point. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
