Pinpoint Tests (NAVAJO): Notes

NOTE: Before testing Electronic Distributorless Ignition System (EDIS), ensure all tests in BASIC TESTING and TESTS W/CODES articles have been performed. In following tests, Electronic Distributorless Ignition System (EDIS) or Ignition Control Module (ICM) may be used to describe ignition system.

NOTE: Use EDIS Diagnostic Cable (49-UN01-057) to diagnose system. Cable is equipped with additional circuits and components to enhance and modify signals for testing purposes. If using an aftermarket test cable or DVOM, become familiar with system wiring diagram and system operation. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .

CAUTION: Unless directed otherwise, DO NOT connect PCM to Breakout Box (BOB) when performing ICM diagnostics.
