Accessing Trouble Codes

  1. Use Self Diagnostic Checker (49 H018 9A1) to retrieve trouble codes. Connect one lead of self diagnostic checker to negative battery terminal and the other to Green 6-pin check connector. Connector is located at left front wheelwell. See Fig 1. Using jumper wire, ground Green 1-pin test connector. Connector is located at left front wheelwell. See Fig 2.
  2. With ignition on and engine stopped, observe Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). Note trouble codes. For diagnostic trouble code definitions, see TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION . If light remains on continuously, or does not light, see MIL DIAGNOSIS .
NOTE: On Federal MPVs, the CHECK engine warning light will come on every 80,000 miles to indicate oxygen sensor service is needed. To reset the light refer to MAINTENANCE REMINDER LIGHT RESET PROCEDURES .
