Keyless Entry System: Description

Keyless entry system uses a remote transmitter to lock and unlock doors. When keyless unit receives a signal from transmitter, door lock actuators are operated. See ELECTRICAL COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Central Processing Unit (CPU) and keyless unit have a self-diagnostic function indicating malfunctions with the CPU or keyless unit. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS  .

Transmitter is electronically coded. For system to operate, keyless unit must recognize transmitter code. See TRANSMITTER SERVICING  . If transmitter button is pushed 100 or more times without the signal reaching the keyless unit, the transmitter will no longer operate. Changing the transmitter code will reactivate the transmitter.
