Test No. 3

  1. Remove door trim panel. Check for obstructions or damage to glass runs and regulator. If no problem is found, go to next step. If fault is found, repair or replace components as necessary. Recheck power window operation.
  2. Observe window movement to determine if condition is caused by lack of lubrication. If adequate lubrication was found, go to next step. If lubrication is inadequate, lubricate mechanism as necessary. Recheck window operation.
  3. Inspect inner and outer weatherstrip for proper installation. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, realign or replace weatherstrip as necessary. Recheck window operation.
  4. Inspect door glass run retainers inside door for proper installation and alignment. Inspect window regulator for proper installation. If problem is found, reinstall or realign retainers or regulator as required. Retest window operation. If no problem is found, check all components individually to determine which is the caused of the malfunction. See COMPONENT TESTS  . Replace necessary component(s) and retest system.
