Idle Air Control (IAC) Solenoid
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect IAC solenoid electrical connector. Set DVOM to 200-ohm scale. Measure resistance between IAC solenoid terminals. A diode is located in solenoid; connect DVOM positive test lead to VPWR terminal (Red wire) and negative lead to IAC terminal (White/Light Blue wire). Resistance should be 6-13 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace solenoid. If resistance is okay, go to next step.
- Restore electrical connections. Using New Generation Star scan tester, access IAC PID. Check PID values while driving vehicle. See IAC PID VALUES table.
