Distributor Pick-Up Coil Resistance
- Disconnect pick-up coil from distributor. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals COM and Ne+, COM and G1+, and COM and G2+ on pick-up coil. See Fig 1
. Replace pick-up coil if resistance is not 205-255 ohms at 68°F (20°C).
- Ensure ignition coil has battery voltage. If ignition coil resistance and pick-up coil test okay, check for spark. If spark is still not present, go to the IGNITION CONTROL MODULE procedure below. If spark is still not present and ignition control module is okay, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES
