Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor

  1. Disconnect IAT sensor connector. Check for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion and loose wires. Repair as necessary. Reconnect connector. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) Tool (49 T088 0A0) to data link connector 2 located under left side of dash. Turn ignition on. Using NSG tool, access IAT PID and record value. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR VOLTAGE/RESISTANCE TABLE  .
  2. If IAT PID value is not as specified, remove IAT sensor. Place IAT sensor in a container of water with a thermometer and gradually heat water. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between IAT sensor terminals. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR VOLTAGE/RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace IATsensor.
