DTC 15: Wheel Speed Sensor & Sensor Rotor
- Check wheel speed sensor resistance. See WHEEL SPEED SENSORS under COMPONENT TESTING. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace wheel speed sensor.
- Check wheel speed sensor voltage. See WHEEL SPEED SENSORS under COMPONENT TESTING. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, adjust wheel speed sensor installation and/or clearance. See WHEEL SPEED SENSORS under COMPONENT TESTING.
- Inspect sensor rotor for damaged or missing teeth. If sensor rotor is damaged or is missing teeth, replace sensor rotor. If sensor rotor is okay, go to next step.
- Perform steps 1) through 3) for all wheel speed sensors. Check hydraulic unit and brake line. See HYDRAULIC UNIT under COMPONENT TESTING. Replace as necessary or repair brake line. If hydraulic unit and brake line are okay, go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. See CLEARING CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Recheck for DTCs by driving vehicle from a stop to faster than 6.2 MPH. If DTC 15 is displayed, replace ABS control module. If DTC 15 is not displayed, a temporary poor contact in wiring may have occurred and ABS is now functioning properly.
