System Operation

EVAP Canister Purge (CANP) solenoid is controlled by signals from PCM to perform purging of EVAP canister. Purge flow sensor monitors vapor flow through CANP solenoid and signals PCM of flow or no flow conditions. PCM monitors signal and other input signals regarding engine condition. Purging occurs after warm up and when accelerator pedal is depressed. See Figure .
