Charge Indicator Does Not Come On With Key On Engine Off

  1. Check Generator Connector

    Disconnect 3-pin harness connector from rear of generator. Check terminals for damage. Repair if necessary. If connector terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Check Ground Connections

    Check generator and regulator ground connections. If ground connections are okay, go to next step. Repair ground connections if necessary. Restore electrical connections and check system operation.
  3. Check Light Green/Red Wire

    Restore electrical connections. Turn ignition on. Check for voltage between Light Green/Red wire at generator 3-pin harness connector and ground. If voltage is greater than one volt, replace voltage regulator. If voltage is one volt or less, check charge indicator bulb and replace if necessary. If bulb is okay, repair open Light Green/Red wire. Restore electrical connections and check system operation.
