STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY THERE IS RADIO INTERFERENCE Start the engine. Tune the radio to a station where the interference is present. Key OFF. Disconnect the generator connector A-168. Start the engine. Is the interference present with the generator disconnected?	Yes	Diagnose and repair audio system as necessary.
1		No	Go to step 2.
2	SUBSTITUTE A KNOWN GOOD GENERATOR Key OFF. Install a known good generator. Start the engine. Is there radio interference present with a known good generator?	Yes	Install the original generator. See GENERATOR in GENERATORS & REGULATORS article in Electrical Diagnose and repair entertainment system as necessary.
2		No	ACTION Replace the generator. See GENERATOR in GENERATORS & REGULATORS article in Electrical . . Test the system for normal operation.
