Pinpoint Test 4: The Block Heater Does Not Operate Properly

PINPOINT TEST 4 - BLOCK HEATER DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY

PINPOINT TEST 4 THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK THE BLOCK HEATER CABLE
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect engine block heater connector.
  • Check resistance in circuits 1, 2, and 3 of the block heater.
  • Is the resistance in circuits 1, 2, and 3 less than 5 ohms? 
 Yes Replace the block heater.
No Replace the block heater cable.
Test the system for normal operation.
