CHECK FUEL PUMP FOR OPERATION
- Verify that the battery is fully charged.
- Verify that the fuel tank assembly connector B-422 is securely connected.
- Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO).
- Connect NGS Tester to DLC and select Active Command Mode.
- Select OUTPUT TEST MODE.
- Press MODE to change to "ALL ON" mode, and press START to run fuel pump.
- Listen to the fuel pump to verify operation.
- Turn relay off.
- Did the fuel pump operate?

Go to step 2. |

CHECK FUEL PUMP FOR CONTINUITY
- Disconnect fuel tank assembly connector B-422.
- Check for continuity between fuel tank unit power (P/B) and ground (B) terminals.
- Is continuity present?

Yes |
Go to step 3. |
| No |

CHECK VOLTAGE AT FUEL PUMP VEHICLE HARNESS CONNECTED
- Connect NGS Tester to DLC.
- Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO).
- Select Active Command Mode.
- Select OUTPUT TEST MODE.
- Press MODE to change to "ALL ON" mode, and press START to run fuel pump.
- Measure the voltage at the power terminal of the fuel tank assembly connector B-422.
- Is voltage greater than 10.5 volts?

Yes |
Go to step 4. |

Check fuel pump relay and fuel pump shutoff switch. |

CHECK FUEL PUMP GROUND CIRCUIT
- Fuel tank assembly connector B-422 disconnected.
- Measure resistance between tank assembly connector B-422 ground terminal and chassis ground.
- Is resistance less than 1 ohm?

Yes |
Ground circuit is OK. Recheck fuel pump. |
| No |
Repair open circuit on connector to chassis ground circuit. |
