Charge Indicator On With Engine Running

  1. Check Fuse

Remove and check fuse No. 14 (30-amp) located in power distribution box. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and check system operation.
  2. Check Black/Orange Wire

Measure voltage between Black/Orange wire at generator B+ terminal and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open Black/Orange wire. Check system operation.
  3. Check Yellow/White Wire

Disconnect 3-pin harness connector from rear of generator. Measure voltage between Yellow/White wire at 3-pin harness connector and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open Yellow/White wire. Check system operation.
  4. Check Light Green/Red Wire

Restore electrical connections. Turn ignition on. Check for voltage at Light Green/Red wire at generator 3-pin harness connector. If greater than one volt exists, go to next step. If one volt or less exists, repair open Light Green/Red wire. Check system operation.
  5. Check Generator Output

Start engine. With engine running, ground terminal "F". See Fig 1 . If generator output voltage increases or charging system indicator turns off, replace regulator. If generator output voltage does not increase or charging system indicator does not turn off, replace generator. Restore electrical connections and check system operation.
