Ignition Coil Resistance (MPV)

  1. Disconnect 4-pin connector. Using ohmmeter, measure primary resistance between terminals "A" and "D", "B" and "D", and "C" and "D". See Figure . Resistance should be as specified. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace coil.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, measure secondary resistance between coil towers 1 and 5, 2 and 6, and 3 and 4. See . Resistance should be as specified. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace coil.
  3. Check continuity between terminal "D" and coil case. Continuity should not exist. If continuity is not as specified, replace coil.
