DTC P1102: MAF Sensor Inconsistent With TP Sensor (Less Than Expected): Testing

NOTE: Ensure freeze frame data has been recorded. Check for service bulletins and on-line information.
  1. Using scan tool, access PID/DATA MONITOR. Record PID data for ECT, TP and MAF. Warm engine until ECT PID is more than 176°F. Drive vehicle. Check MAF PID while TP PID is more than 50 percent. If MAF PID is less than 1.09 lbs. min., check TP sensor. See SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - MIATA, MILLENIA, MPV, PROTEGE & 626 article. If sensor is okay, go to next step. If sensor is faulty, replace as necessary. After repair, go to step  4 . If MAF PID is more than 1.09 lbs. min., problem is not present. Go to TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAF sensor connector. Check connector and terminals. If no problem is found, go to next step. If any problem is found, repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector. PCM is mounted to passenger floor, behind glove box. Check connector and terminals. If no problem is found, replace MAF sensor. If any problem is found, repair or replace as necessary. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTC. Warm engine until ECT PID is more than 176°F. Drive vehicle. Accelerate so TP PID is more than 50 percent and MAF PID is more than 1.09 lbs. min. for more than 5 seconds. Recheck DTCs. If DTC P1102 is present, replace PCM and go to next step. If DTC P1102 is not present, go to next step.
  5. Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE  . If no DTC is present, testing is complete. If any DTC is present, go to appropriate test for diagnosis and repair.
