O/D Off Switch
- Remove steering column cover to access switch connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a DVOM, backprobe harness connector. With O/D OFF switch in off (O/D OFF indicator off), measure voltage between chassis ground and terminal "J" on switch connector. See Fig 1. Battery voltage should be present. Depress O/D OFF switch (O/D OFF indicator on). No voltage should be present. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check circuits to ground and PCM. Repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect O/D OFF switch harness connector. Check for continuity between terminals "I" and "J" on switch connector. See Fig 1. Continuity should not exist with O/D OFF switch in OFF position. Depress O/D OFF switch (ON position). Continuity should exist. If continuity is as specified, switch is okay. If continuity is not as specified, replace O/D OFF switch.
