Throttle Position Sensor

Disconnect TP sensor 3-pin connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between TP sensor terminals No. 1 and 3. Resistance should be 3.2-4.8 ohms. If resistance is not within specification, replace faulty TP sensor. If resistance is within specification, check for continuity in TP sensor circuits from TP sensor and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Check for shorts to ground or power at both TP sensor terminals No. 1 and 2. Also, check for short to power at TP sensor terminal No. 3. Repair as necessary.
