Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

  1. CKP sensor is located on front of engine, near crankshaft pulley. Disconnect CKP sensor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B" at CKP sensor. See Fig 1 . Resistance should be as specified. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE  table.
  2. If resistance is not as specified, replace CKP sensor. On Millenia 2.3L, when installing CKP sensor, adjust air gap to .040-.080" (1.0-2.0 mm). On all models except Millenia 2.3L and MPV, when installing CKP sensor, adjust air gap to .020-.060" (.5-1.5 mm). MPV has no air gap specification.
