DTC P0507: Idle Control, Rpm High: Testing
NOTE:
Ensure freeze frame data has been recorded. Check for service bulletins and on-line information.
- Turn ignition off, then on. Check for pending and stored DTCs. If no other DTCs are present, go to next step. If any other DTCs are present, repair first.
- Start engine. Using scan tool, simulate zero percent IACV PID under SIMULATION TEST. If engine speed decreases, go to next step. If engine speed does not decrease, replace IAC valve. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Turn ignition off. Check accelerator cable free play. If no problem is found, go to next step. If any problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Check actuator cable free play. If no problem is found, go to next step. If any problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Check vacuum hose routing. If no problem is found, go to next step. If any problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Check throttle body. If no problem is found, go to next step. If throttle body is stuck open or damaged, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Reconnect all components. Start engine. Using scan tool, clear DTC. Depress brake pedal for 14 seconds or more. Recheck pending DTCs. If DTC P0507 is pending, replace PCM and go to next step. PCM is mounted to passenger floor, behind glove box. If DTC P0507 is not pending, go to next step.
- Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE . If no DTC is present, testing is complete. If any DTC is present, go to appropriate test for diagnosis and repair.
