DTC P0325: Knock Sensor Circuit Problem: Testing
NOTE:
Record freeze frame data. Check for service bulletins and on-line information.
NOTE:
Wire colors between KS and PCM change at harness connector B1-28
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector. PCM is mounted to passenger floor, behind glove box. Check all terminals. If problems are not present, go to next step. If any terminals are faulty, repair as necessary and go to step 6 .
- Disconnect KS. Check continuity of circuits between KS and PCM. See KNOCK SENSOR CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION table. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair as necessary and go to step 6 .
- Check for continuity between sensor circuits and ground. See KNOCK SENSOR CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION table. If continuity is not present, go to next step. If continuity is present, repair short to ground and go to step 6 .
- Check for continuity between KS harness connector terminals "A" (Red wire) and "B" (Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If continuity is not present, go to next step. If continuity is present, repair short between circuits and go to step 6 .
- Check resistance between KS terminals "A" (Red wire) and "B" (Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If resistance is about 560 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not about 560 k/ohms, replace KS and go to next step.
- Reconnect all components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTC. Start engine. Using scan tool, select ECT, RPM and LOAD PIDS. Operate vehicle under monitored conditions for more than 5 seconds. Recheck DTCs. If DTC P0325 is present, replace PCM and go to next step. If DTC P0325 is not present, go to next step.
- Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
. If DTC is not present, testing is complete. If any DTC is present, go to appropriate test for diagnosis and repair.KNOCK SENSOR CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION
