Shift Lock Actuator: Miata

  1. Remove rear console. Remove gearshift lever knob and indicator panel screws. Lift up gearshift lever, selector sleeve and indicator. Disconnect OD OFF switch connector. Ensure gearshift lever is in "P" position.
  2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at selected connector terminals. See Figure . If voltage is not as specified, inspect harness and connector. Repair as needed. If harness and connector are okay, replace shift lock actuator. See SHIFT LOCK ACTUATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Turn ignition off. Check for continuity at selected connector terminals. If continuity is not as specified, inspect harness and connector. Repair as needed. If harness and connector are okay, replace shift lock actuator. See SHIFT LOCK ACTUATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
