Engine Code - Position 4

The 8th number in VIN is the engine displacement and number of cylinders code. Description is as follows:

• B = 2.0L in-line four cylinder (Zetec).
• D = 2.3L in-line four cylinder EFI.
• E = 4.0L V6 SOHC, EFI.
• U = 3.0L (OHV), V6 EFI.
• 1 = 3.0L V6, Duratec.
