Generator Warning Light Operation
- Verify that the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON position and verify that the generator warning light illuminates. If warning light does not illuminate, inspect generator warning light, wiring harnesses between the battery and the generator warning light.
- Verify that the generator warning light goes off after the engine is started. If it does not go out, connect Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS), or equivalent scan tool and check if any one of the following DTCs in the on-board diagnostic system are displayed:
- P0112, P0113, P2502, P2503 or P2504.
If P0112, P0113, P2502, P2503 or P2504 are displayed, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no DTCs are present, perform appropriate test under ON-VEHICLE TESTS .
