Removal Note

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL FRONT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the watershield.
  4. Support the door glass.
  5. If equipped, disconnect the power window motor electrical connector.

  6. Loosen the center door glass run retainer.
    • Remove the center door glass run retainer nuts.

    NOTE:
    • Use a drift punch to remove the steel centers and a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) diameter drill bit to remove the rivets.
    NOTE:
    • The power window regulator has four rivets; the manual window regulator has three.
  7. Remove the window regulator rivets.
    1. Remove the steel centers.
    2. Remove the rivets.

  8. Remove the window regulator.

    NOTE:
    • Prior to motor removal, ensure the regulator arms are in a fixed position to prevent counterbalance spring unwind.
  9. If necessary, remove the motor.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the power window motor.
