Installation (Mazda6 2.3L)

  1. Install the Oil Control Valve (OCV). See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    2. CAUTION: Install the cylinder head cover within 10 minutes of applying the silicone sealant at a thickness of 0.16-0.23 in. (4.0-6.0 mm).
  2. Apply silicone sealant to the cylinder head cover mating faces as shown in the illustration. See Fig 1.
  3. Install the cylinder head cover with a new gasket.
  4. Tighten cylinder head bolts in the order indicated in the illustration. See Fig 2. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the ventilation hose.
  6. Install the OCV connector.
    7. CAUTION: The high-tension leads must be reinstalled to their original positions. Incorrect installation can damage the leads and cause power loss, and negatively affect the electronic components.
  7. Install the high-tension lead.
  8. Install the plug hole plate.
