Detection Condition

PCM measures fuel tank pressure (ftp2), which is vacuum when a specified period has passed after EVAP system is sealed. PCM determines pressure difference between (ftp1) and (ftp2). If pressure difference exceeds threshold, PCM determines EVAP system has a small leak. This monitor can activate when PCM determines that CONSTANT LEAK DETECTED test results are passed.

Threshold Value  - Fuel tank pressure (ftp2-ftp1): 8.78-29.30 mm Hg (1.17-3.91 kPa). Threshold value varies depending on ECT at engine start and BARO.

Monitoring Conditions

This is an intermittent monitor. MIL is illuminated when PCM detects malfunction condition in 2 consecutive drive cycles. Diagnostic Monitoring Test Results and Pending code are available if PCM detects malfunction condition during first drive cycle. Freeze frame data is available and DTC is stored in PCM memory.
